Louisiana Autism Chapter
(LSAC) is a coalition of local chapters providing a network of families who offer support and experience.  We are an affiliate of Autism Society of America (ASA).  ASA is the oldest and largest grassroots organization within the autism community and the respected voice of the autism community.

A 2007 Centers for Disease Control report found that 1 in 150 children in America today have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  Autism is a national health crisis.

For over thirty years, Louisiana State Autism Chapter (LSAC) has been providing information and referrals, advocacy and training for professionals, parents and all affected on the autism spectrum.  We have approximately 3500 professionals, parents, and individuals on the autism spectrum receiving our quarterly newsletter providing up- to-date information on autism.  In addition, LSAC coordinates and provides biennial statewide educational conferences in which national and local professionals in the field of autism present current information.  On alternate years, we provide workshops for professionals and families.  Our brochures, resource manual and other educational materials are distributed to families and professionals as well.

LSAC has an 800 phone number for families and professionals to contact us at any time needed.  They are offered immediate assistance to address their concerns and given referrals specific to their needs.

Our organization worked successfully to assist families with autism during the 2005 Louisiana hurricane disaster.  We collaborate with the LA Department of Education and LA Department of Health and Hospitals to bring educational opportunities for professionals and families as needed.  In addition, we provide a resource book for families and professionals.

Louisiana State Autism Chapter is a non-profit 5013C. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. To contribute please make your check payable to: Louisiana State Autism Chapter.  Mailing address for LSAC
